KARACHI: Korangi Police have arrested the main suspect allegedly involved in a shooting that left a young man injured following a neighbourhood dispute in Korangi No. 2, officials said.
According to police, the incident occurred after a heated argument between neighbours escalated into violence. During the altercation, a man identified as Hussain, son of Nadeem, was allegedly shot and injured. He was rushed to Indus Hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment.
Following the incident, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Korangi Fida Hussain Janwari ordered an immediate operation to apprehend those responsible. Acting on the directive, police arrested the principal suspect, identified as Sajjad alias Muna, son of Abdul Ghaffar.
Police said raids were continuing to apprehend other suspects believed to have been involved in the incident, while investigators were examining all aspects of the case to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting.
A spokesperson for Korangi Police said further legal action would be taken in accordance with the findings of the ongoing investigation.
The incident has raised concerns among local residents over neighbourhood disputes turning violent. Police have urged citizens to resolve disagreements through lawful means and cooperate with investigators by providing any relevant information that may assist the inquiry.
