LAHORE: The Lahore High Court ordered the return of Rs70 million to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, which had been submitted as surety in a previous case.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Aalia Neelum heard the matter and approved the request for the refund of the amount.
The court accepted the plea seeking the return of Rs70 million deposited as bail surety by Maryam Nawaz in connection with the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.
The request for the refund was filed after the National Accountability Bureau closed the sugar mills case, paving the way for the release of the deposited amount.
