KARACHI: Voting for the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections continued in a peaceful atmosphere at polling stations across Karachi’s Malir district on Saturday, according to police.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr Abdul Khaliq Pirzada visited several polling stations to review security arrangements and assess the overall situation.
During the visits, the SSP directed officers and personnel to remain vigilant, ensure strict compliance with the election code of conduct and provide voters with a safe and orderly environment.
Police said adequate personnel had been deployed across the district for election security, while quick response teams and reserve police units had been placed on standby to deal with any emergency.
According to Malir Police, comprehensive security measures have been put in place to help maintain law and order and support a peaceful and transparent electoral process.
