HANGU: Security officials and community representatives paid tribute to police martyrs at a ceremony in Hangu, highlighting their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and efforts to maintain peace across the country.
The event was attended by Commandant Police Training College Hangu Shaukat Abbas, Commandant Tall Scouts Brigadier Alamgir Yousafzai, District Police Officer Hangu Tariq Habib Khan, police officials, members of peace committees, families of martyrs and their children.
Addressing the ceremony, officials said the sacrifices of the police force, particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, represented a historic contribution towards protecting citizens and strengthening the rule of law.
Commandant Police Training College Shaukat Abbas said police and other uniformed forces shared a common objective of safeguarding the lives, property and dignity of citizens while defeating threats to national security.
He stressed the importance of close coordination among all security institutions, saying cooperation between law enforcement agencies was essential for establishing lasting peace and strengthening government authority.
Paying tribute to fallen personnel, Abbas said police martyrs were a source of pride for the nation, as they had sacrificed their lives in the line of duty to protect the country and its people. He added that police personnel continued to perform their responsibilities with courage, dedication and a strong sense of duty.
Brigadier Alamgir Yousafzai said the sacrifices of police martyrs would contribute to lasting peace and stability in the country. He praised security forces for their efforts against militant groups and said no one could challenge the state’s authority as long as security institutions and citizens continued to work together.
He also expressed appreciation for the bravery and commitment of police personnel, describing them as courageous officers who had earned the respect of the nation.
DPO Hangu Tariq Habib Khan said the police force had always confronted challenges while fulfilling responsibilities assigned by the state and would continue to do so in the future.
He said the morale of the force remained high and police officers stood alongside martyrs and veterans in their mission to protect the public. He assured that the government’s writ would be maintained across Hangu and that police would not hesitate to make any sacrifice for the security of citizens.
