KARACHI: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman met Hur spiritual leader and Grand Democratic Alliance chief Pir Pagara at his residence, Raja House, on Friday evening, where they discussed the country’s overall political situation, economic conditions, rising inflation and the growing difficulties faced by the public.
During the meeting, both sides also exchanged views on the prospects of closer political cooperation between the two parties and expressed concern over the lack of action to curb drug trafficking, particularly in educational institutions across Sindh.
The JUI-F leadership also invited Pir Pagara to attend a peace conference scheduled to be held in Sukkur next year.
Pir Pagara was accompanied by his brother Pir Sadruddin Shah Rashdi, his son Syed Rashid Shah, GDA General Secretary Dr Safdar Ali Abbasi, Sardar Abdul Rahim, Hussain Mirza, Muazzam Ali Khan Abbasi, Muhammad Khan Junejo and Muzaffar Hussain Brohi.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman was accompanied by Rashid Mahmood Soomro, Nasir Mahmood Soomro, Aslam Ghori, Qari Sher Afzal, Hameedullah Halijvi and others.
