KHAIRPUR: A minor dispute over irrigation water turned violent in Mubarak Shar village, within the limits of Bozard Wada Police Station, leaving a man and his wife seriously injured, police and local sources said.
According to sources, an argument over the blocking of water supply to agricultural land led to a clash between two brothers. During the incident, Mir Khan Gopang and his wife Lailan were allegedly beaten with sticks and sustained serious injuries.
Speaking to the media, the injured Mir Khan Gopang alleged that his brother Sher Khan and his son Ghulam Hussain Gopang had forcibly stopped water supply to his agricultural land.
“When I asked them to restore the water, the accused attacked me and my wife and brutally beat us with sticks,” he alleged. He further claimed that the accused had forced him and his children out of their home, adding that their lives were at risk.
