The hearing was jointly chaired by Regional Director of Mohtasib-e-Aala (Ombudsman) Dadu Syed Imdad Ali Shah and Additional District Accounts Officer-I Qasim Ali Rahpoto at the District Accounts Office.
During the session, officials reviewed complaints submitted by employees and pensioners. The hearing was attended by Aftab Ahmed Mallah, Superintendent of the Regional Director Ombudsman’s Office, representatives of the Information Department, District Accounts Office officials and other staff members.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Imdad Ali Shah said the purpose of the monthly hearings was to provide prompt relief to government employees and pensioners through a fair, transparent and lawful grievance redressal process.
He said his office had received 150 complaints since he assumed charge, of which 70 had been resolved, while five cases remained pending. He added that the office received around 70 applications each month, with approximately 40 cases being disposed of within the prescribed timeframe.
The regional director also said citizens who were unable to visit the office in person could submit complaints through the online system. He noted that awareness of the digital complaint mechanism was regularly promoted through the media to improve public access to the service.
Additional District Accounts Officer-I Qasim Ali Rahpoto described the monthly hearing as an effective platform for resolving issues faced by employees and pensioners. He said the department remained committed to transparency, merit and efficient public service.
He instructed officials to treat applicants with courtesy, process legitimate cases within the stipulated timeframe and ensure that employees and pensioners did not face unnecessary delays in resolving their financial and administrative matters.
