KARACHI: The Pakistan Influencer Awards, a new platform aimed at recognizing digital creators and redefining standards of influence in the country, were officially launched in Karachi on Friday.

Described as the first industry-backed and data-driven initiative of its kind in Pakistan, the awards seek to honor creators based on the impact of their work, authenticity of content and ability to shape digital culture, rather than relying solely on popularity figures.
Organizers said the platform has been designed to bring greater transparency and credibility to Pakistan’s rapidly growing creator economy by evaluating influencers through factors such as meaningful engagement, consistency, community impact, educational value and audience reach.
The initiative is supported by an advisory board comprising professionals from different sectors, with organizers saying the board will help ensure that the recognition process remains transparent, independent and based on measurable standards. The launch event featured keynote discussions, creator-led conversations and a music performance.
Chief Curator of Pakistan Influencer Awards Talha Aslam presented the vision behind the initiative, followed by discussions involving advisory board members, including Fouad Husain, Chief Executive Officer of Starcrest Communications (Pvt.) Ltd., Hasan Rizvi, Chief Executive Officer of BBPR Pakistan, and Jerjees Seja, Chief Executive Officer of ARY Digital Network.
Faraz Bashir, Director Data, Insights and Evaluation, and Hassaan Azhar, Director Partnerships and Growth, shared details about the awards’ evaluation framework, partnerships and business model, while Abdul Sattar Babar, Chief Executive Officer of Ipsos in Pakistan, outlined the research, audit and transparency mechanisms behind the initiative.
Speaking at the launch, Talha Aslam said the awards were created to recognize and celebrate influence while establishing meaningful benchmarks for the future of Pakistan’s creator economy. “Our ambition is not simply to recognize creators but to elevate the entire ecosystem by promoting credibility, transparency and responsible influence,” he said.
The ceremony concluded with the unveiling of the Pakistan Influencer Awards’ brand identity and trophy, followed by a discussion with prominent creators including Asad Memon, Bilal Munir, Junaid Akram and Natasha Lakhani, moderated by Dino Ali.
Organizers said the awards were intended to go beyond a traditional ceremony by recognizing creators who drive conversations, build communities and contribute to digital culture, helping establish Pakistan’s creator economy as a more structured and respected industry.
