WASHINGTON: Pakistan is strengthening its position in the global digital financial system through measures aimed at accelerating the country’s digital transformation, according to an article published by US-based publication IBT.
The article praised Pakistan’s initiatives to promote a digital revolution and highlighted the vision of PVARA Chairman Bilal Bin Saqib, saying the country would need to play a more effective role in the evolving global digital financial system.
It said the future would belong to countries capable of making swift decisions and implementing reforms quickly, adding that Pakistan needed to adopt a leadership role in the digital economy.
According to the publication, technology and speed are increasingly driving progress rather than traditional bureaucratic systems. It said governments needed to make decisions and implement policies with the speed and flexibility associated with startups.
The article also highlighted the growing importance of digital assets, describing them as a potential foundation of the financial infrastructure of the future.
It stressed that countries seeking to remain competitive in the changing global financial landscape would need to embrace technological innovation, accelerate reforms and create an environment capable of supporting digital businesses and emerging financial technologies.
The publication’s assessment comes as Pakistan continues efforts to expand its digital economy and strengthen its participation in emerging global financial and technology ecosystems.
