TEHRAN: Iran’s president Masoud Pezeshkian has praised the country’s armed forces, saying their performance and “bravery” in responding to acts of aggression had strengthened national security and enhanced Iran’s overall defence capabilities, according to state media reports.
The remarks were made during a meeting in Tehran with the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, Major General Amir Hatami, where senior political and military leadership reviewed the country’s defence posture and broader security environment. The discussions, officials said, focused on operational readiness, coordination between institutions and the strategic direction of Iran’s military framework.
According to reports carried by Iranian state media, President Masoud Pezeshkian said the armed forces played a central role in safeguarding territorial integrity and maintaining national stability. He stressed that the government remained firmly aligned with the military establishment and would continue to support initiatives aimed at strengthening defence capabilities and modernising operational structures.
Pezeshkian also commended what he described as the armed forces’ “strong response” to external aggression, saying their conduct had been recognised at the highest levels of the state. He underlined the importance of sustained investment in defence preparedness and called for continuous improvements in training, coordination and strategic capacity to ensure long-term resilience.
The Iranian president further emphasised the need for close cooperation between civilian institutions and the military, particularly in periods of heightened regional sensitivity. Such coordination, he noted, was essential for maintaining internal stability and ensuring a unified national response to security challenges.
