ISLAMABAD: Rain, wind and thunderstorms were expected across several parts of Pakistan over the next 12 hours, with the weather system likely to affect Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, upper and central Punjab and northeastern Balochistan, according to the weather forecast.
The meteorological authorities said isolated heavy rainfall, and at times very heavy showers, could occur in some areas during the period. Residents in vulnerable regions were advised to remain alert as intense rainfall could lead to temporary disruptions in daily activities.
The forecast indicated that southern parts of the country would experience hot and humid conditions. Cities in the lower regions were expected to continue facing high humidity despite the possibility of changing weather patterns in northern and central areas.
Morning temperatures showed relatively cooler conditions in several northern locations. Islamabad recorded 25 degrees Celsius, while Lahore stood at 26 degrees. Karachi recorded 29 degrees Celsius, with Peshawar at 28 degrees and Quetta at 24 degrees.
In mountainous areas, Gilgit recorded 20 degrees Celsius, while Murree remained cooler at 17 degrees. Muzaffarabad recorded a temperature of 23 degrees Celsius during the morning hours.
The weather department also issued a forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, where cloudy conditions with chances of rain, wind and thunderstorms were expected in several areas.
Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag and Shopian were likely to experience cloudy weather with rainfall and thunderstorm activity, while Srinagar, Jammu and Baramulla were expected to remain partly cloudy to cloudy with chances of rain and strong winds.
