KARACHI: Police in District Keamari carried out a fourth consecutive day of crackdown and search and combing operations in the Meowah Shah graveyard, Jahanabad and adjoining areas to curb the movement of criminal elements and drug users.
Under the supervision of the SSP Keamari, SDPOs and SHOs, accompanied by a heavy police contingent, conducted operations against suspected drug dens in the affected localities.
Police said the daily search and combing operations were aimed at suppressing drug peddling and gang war elements and ensuring lasting peace in the area.
During the operation, 70 suspected individuals were detained and were being screened through biometric verification.
After verification, legal action was being taken against criminals and drug dealers, while drug addicts were being shifted to rehabilitation centres on humanitarian grounds.
