KARACHI: A gunfight broke out near Sherpao Colony in Qaidabad on 2 December 2025, as local police clashed with street criminals reportedly patrolling the area for looting.
According to the Malir District Police, officers on routine patrol were fired upon by the suspects upon sighting the police. Responding promptly, police returned fire, resulting in the injury and arrest of one suspect, identified as Manzoor, also known as “Manzoorah.”
Authorities recovered a pistol with ammunition and a sum of cash from the suspect. The wounded individual was immediately shifted to hospital for medical treatment, while the seized firearm has been sent for forensic examination.
Police confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and legal proceedings are being carried out in accordance with established procedures.
A spokesperson for Malir Police stated that the swift action underscores the department’s commitment to maintaining public safety and curbing street-level crime in Karachi.
