KHAIRPUR: Pakistan Peoples Party leader and former political secretary to ex-Sindh chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Lal Bux Mangi, has died at a private hospital in Karachi after succumbing to injuries sustained in a road accident a week earlier.
According to details, Lal Bux Mangi was travelling from Karachi to Khairpur when a speeding trailer collided with his car near Daur in Nawabshah district. He suffered critical injuries and was immediately shifted to a private hospital in Karachi for treatment.
He remained under medical care for a week but died on Monday during treatment, hospital sources confirmed.
Mangi had served as political secretary to former Sindh chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and was considered a close aide and loyal worker of the Pakistan Peoples Party. At the time of his death, he was also serving as vice chairman of the Sachal Sarmast Memorial Committee.
Following his death, his body was transported from Karachi to Khairpur, where funeral prayers were offered in his native village near Khairpur Sugar Mill.
Party members, relatives and supporters expressed grief over his passing, describing him as a committed political worker who remained closely associated with PPP leadership throughout his career.
