SUKKUR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Khairpur leader and lawyer Muhammad Saleh Ansari has alleged that administrative failures at Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) have placed the future of around 1,200 law graduates at risk.
Speaking to journalists, Ansari claimed that the university’s registrar, controller of examinations and other officials should be held accountable over what he described as a controversy involving the verification of law degrees. He alleged that responsibility for the issue had been shifted onto affiliated law colleges instead of being addressed by the university administration.
Ansari questioned how degrees were issued if there were concerns over the academic credentials of the graduates, adding that many of those affected were serving in government departments and other public institutions.
Commenting on broader governance issues, Ansari said the country needed stronger institutions, greater access to justice, employment opportunities and measures to control inflation.
