KHAIRPUR: Leaders of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have praised senior party leader and PPP Khairpur District President Nawab Khan Wassan, describing his growing public support as a reflection of his long-standing commitment to public service and party organization.
Speaking at a three-day PPP seminar, party leaders including Ali Nawaz Solangi, Sajid Ali Siddiq and Asif Khan said Wassan had consistently placed public welfare at the center of his political work and had remained accessible to people during difficult times.
The speakers said Wassan played an active role during the Covid-19 pandemic by helping affected families through the distribution of food supplies and other welfare assistance. They also credited him with contributing to relief and rehabilitation efforts during the devastating 2022 floods, saying he was among the first political figures to visit affected communities and support relief operations.
They described his organizational abilities, close engagement with party workers and active role within the PPP as valuable assets for the party, adding that his popularity among supporters and the wider public continued to grow.
The speakers urged the PPP’s central leadership to entrust leaders such as Nawab Khan Wassan with greater responsibilities, saying they believed experienced and community-focused politicians could strengthen the party’s public outreach.
They also reaffirmed the PPP’s commitment to the political philosophy of the late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, pledging to continue working for democratic values, public rights and development. The remarks were made by PPP leaders during the seminar and reflect their views.
