KARACHI: A private airline’s Hajj flight PK-940 arrived in Karachi from Jeddah after a delay of 15 hours, according to airline sources.
The Boeing 777 aircraft carried more than 300 pilgrims returning from Saudi Arabia after completing their Hajj pilgrimage. The flight was part of the airline’s ongoing Hajj operation.
Sources said the delay occurred due to the unavailability of an aircraft, which disrupted the scheduled departure and arrival timings. Passengers reportedly faced extended waiting hours in Jeddah before the flight could be arranged.
Despite the delay, all pilgrims were safely transported to Karachi. Airline officials said the Hajj operation will continue until 30 June, after which regular flight schedules are expected to resume.
Delays during peak Hajj operations are not uncommon due to heavy air traffic, logistical constraints, and aircraft rotation issues. However, passengers often express concern over extended waiting times, especially after long international journeys.
Authorities have not announced any compensation or further details regarding the disruption.
