ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), under the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC), hosted a welcome ceremony on Thursday for Polish adventure cyclist Sławomir Jan Strzelczyk, marking the beginning of the Pakistan–Poland Friendship Cycle Expedition 2026.
The ceremony was held at the IPC Conference Room in Kohsar Block, Pakistan Secretariat, Islamabad, and was attended by senior government officials, representatives of the Embassy of Poland, tourism industry members, the Pakistan Cycling Federation, Islamabad Cycling Association, media representatives and other guests.
The event celebrated an initiative aimed at strengthening the long-standing friendship between Pakistan and Poland through tourism, cultural exchange and people-to-people connections.
Addressing the ceremony, Secretary of the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani welcomed Strzelczyk to Pakistan and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting the country as a safe, vibrant and world-class destination for international tourism and adventure sports.
Polish Ambassador to Pakistan Maciej Pisarski appreciated the warm hospitality extended by the Pakistani government and PTDC. He highlighted the historic friendship between the two countries and said the cycling expedition reflected shared values of friendship, cultural understanding and international cooperation.
He expressed hope that Strzelczyk’s journey across Pakistan would showcase the country’s breathtaking landscapes, rich heritage and famous hospitality to audiences in Poland and beyond, while further strengthening bonds between the people of both nations.
PTDC Managing Director Aftab-ur-Rehman Rana said the corporation had continued efforts to promote adventure tourism, cycling tourism and sustainable travel. He said the Pakistan–Poland Friendship Cycle Expedition reflected Pakistan’s growing attraction as an international destination for outdoor adventure and cultural exploration.
