QAMBAR: Leaders of Islahi-ul-Fuqara Hussainia Naqshbandia have urged the divisional and district administrations to convene an urgent meeting on security and administrative arrangements ahead of Rabi-ul-Awwal.
District president Maulana Ghulam Sarwar Soomro, general secretary Faqir Arshad Nazir Hussaini, vice-president Maulana Ghulam Mustafa Chandio, Maulana Abid Hussain Mugheri and Allah Dino Mugheri said Rabi-ul-Awwal was a sacred month for Muslims, during which religious gatherings, programs and processions were held.
They said the district administration should have consulted religious scholars, community leaders and organizations in advance to finalize arrangements for the month. The leaders expressed concern over what they described as the administration’s silence ahead of Rabi-ul-Awwal, questioning why a meeting on the arrangements had not yet been called.
The group called on the district administration to immediately convene a meeting, take all religious leaders and organizations into confidence and develop a joint strategy to maintain peace, brotherhood and religious harmony.
“We do not want any kind of conflict, but the administration must fulfil its responsibilities in time,” the leaders said. They said Rabi-ul-Awwal carried a message of love, peace and brotherhood and urged the administration to work with all schools of thought.
The leaders warned that if their demands were not addressed, they would announce a “strict course of action” during their annual procession on the first day of Rabi-ul-Awwal.
