ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) says it recovered assets and funds worth Rs2.452 trillion during the second quarter of 2026, taking its total recoveries for the first half of the year to Rs5.414 trillion. The figures were released in the bureau’s latest performance report issued in Islamabad.
According to the report, NAB secured the recovery of 1,078,283 acres of state-owned land across Balochistan, Sindh, Punjab and Islamabad. It also said more than 24,365 people affected by housing and financial fraud cases had received Rs42.303 billion and other recovered assets.
The report said NAB Sukkur recovered 853,678 acres of land belonging to the National Highway Authority (NHA), forestry and irrigation departments, while NAB Balochistan reclaimed 209,544 acres of forest land valued at Rs604.64 billion. It added that the recovered land included areas linked to the Coastal Highway, the Gwadar Industrial Estate Development Authority and Hingol National Park.
According to the report, NAB Karachi recovered 11,422 acres of illegally allotted government land worth Rs467.11 billion, while NAB Lahore reclaimed 1,909 acres of public land, including property linked to PCBL, valued at Rs288.29 billion. The bureau said its total recoveries between March 2023 and June 2026 had reached Rs16.94 trillion.
The report also stated that NAB Islamabad/Rawalpindi recovered 810 acres of land worth Rs66.63 billion from various housing schemes, while NAB Multan reclaimed 920 acres of government land valued at Rs2.76 billion. NAB said it had completed its transition to a digital, AI-supported system through the Pak AI Office and had upgraded the Pakistan Anti-Corruption Academy into a Centre of Excellence.
