KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Labor and Human Resources Saeed Ghani held a meeting with a delegation of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) on Monday to discuss issues related to labor rights, workers’ welfare and improving protections for employees across the province.
The three-member delegation was led by HRCP Vice Chairperson Qazi Khizar and included Regional Coordinator Ali Ausat and Iman Ahsan. The meeting provided a platform to discuss matters concerning labor policies, workplace conditions and the role of institutions in ensuring the rights of workers.
Saeed Ghani said the Sindh government remained committed to strengthening labor protections and promoting welfare measures for workers. He highlighted the importance of cooperation between government departments and civil society organizations to address challenges faced by labor communities.
The HRCP representatives shared their observations and discussed areas where further improvements could be made to ensure effective implementation of labor laws and safeguard workers’ interests. Both sides emphasized the need for continued engagement and coordination to improve mechanisms related to labor rights.
Officials from the Labor Department and Sindh Employees’ Social Security Institution (SESSI) also attended the meeting. They included Sindh Labor Secretary Sajid Jamal Abro, SESSI Commissioner Hadi Bakhsh Khalo, Focal Person Dr Saadat Memon and members of the SESSI Governing Body.
Labor representatives, including Habibuddin Junedi and Nasir Mansoor, were also present during the discussion. The meeting came as part of ongoing consultations between provincial authorities and rights organizations aimed at strengthening labor governance, improving social security systems and ensuring better support for workers throughout Sindh.
