KHAIRPUR: Vice Chancellor of Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur, Meritorious Professor Dr Yousuf Khushk has directed university officials to complete all maintenance and administrative work before the reopening of the campus following the summer vacation.
Chairing a high-level meeting, the vice chancellor reviewed preparations for the new academic session, with discussions focusing on the readiness of academic departments, student hostels and administrative facilities.
Dr Khushk instructed officials to ensure that hostels, classrooms and other essential infrastructure are fully maintained and upgraded during the remaining vacation period so that students are welcomed to a safe, comfortable and conducive learning environment from the first day of classes.
He ordered comprehensive inspections of student hostels, academic departments, laboratories, classrooms, sanitation facilities and other areas of the campus. He also stressed the need to ensure uninterrupted internet connectivity across the university to support teaching, research and administrative operations.
The vice chancellor said continuous improvements in campus management, student services and academic infrastructure were essential for enhancing institutional performance and strengthening the university’s reputation at both national and international levels.
He urged all officers to treat the assigned tasks as a collective responsibility and ensure that all work was completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Highlighting an important milestone, Dr Khushk said Shah Abdul Latif University would celebrate its 40th anniversary next year. He said the institution should mark the occasion with a well-maintained, vibrant and student-friendly campus that reflects its academic achievements and historic legacy.
The meeting was attended by Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Wahid Bux Jatoi, deans, senior faculty members, Registrar Muhammad Hassan Halepoto, Director Finance Kazi Nizamuddin and other administrative officers.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr Khushk presented certificates of appreciation to faculty members and university officials in recognition of their outstanding services and contributions to institutional development.
The recipients included Professor Dr Irum Rani, Professor Dr Riaz Ahmed Shaikh, Dr Munir Ahmed Qazi, Dr Shaista Pathan, Dr Raffaqat Arain, Dr Allah Wassayo Soomro, Dr Tahira Jatt, Dr Hira Rani, Dr Zahid Sahito, Dr Akhlaq Larik and Hallar Malik.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to working collectively for the continued progress of the university and appreciated the vice chancellor’s leadership in promoting academic excellence, quality education and institutional development.
