RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has condemned Iranian attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain and expressed full solidarity with both countries on Saturday in separate statements issued over the incidents. In a statement, the Saudi Foreign Ministry said the attacks could have undermined efforts to maintain peace in the region and posed a threat to regional and international security. It added that Saudi Arabia supported all measures aimed at safeguarding regional security and called on all parties to avoid any action that could further escalate tensions.
Egypt also condemned the Iranian attacks and expressed full solidarity with both Gulf states in a separate statement. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said the attacks posed a danger to the security of the Gulf region.
Qatar likewise condemned the Iranian attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain in a separate statement. The Qatari Foreign Ministry said the attacks constituted a violation of the sovereignty of both countries and stressed the need to reduce rising tensions across the region.
Meanwhile, Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry said Iran had launched seven ballistic missiles, all of which were intercepted and destroyed before reaching their targets in a statement issued on Saturday. The ministry condemned the attacks against Bahrain and Kuwait, saying peace could not be secured through missile and drone strikes. It called on Iran to halt what it described as unjustified attacks and to pursue the path of peace. It also urged Iran to identify underwater mines, cooperate in their removal, and ensure safe passage for vessels through the Strait of Hormuz as well.
