LAKKI MARWAT: Several militants were killed after security forces conducted a series of intelligence-based operations in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security officials said.
The operations were carried out on the basis of information about militant activity in the area. Officials said security personnel successfully targeted several hideouts used by militants and destroyed their facilities during the action.
Weapons, ammunition and other equipment were recovered from the militants killed in the operation. Security sources said several other militants were also believed to have sustained injuries, although an official figure regarding casualties was not immediately released.
The latest operation came as security forces continued intelligence-led actions across the country to prevent militant groups from reorganizing and carrying out attacks. Authorities said such operations were being conducted to protect public safety and maintain peace in affected areas.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for their performance and described the operation as a successful effort against militant networks. He appreciated the professionalism, determination and courage displayed by the personnel involved.
Naqvi said the forces had effectively neutralized several militants and disrupted their plans. He added that the sacrifices and achievements of security personnel were valued by the nation.
The interior minister reiterated that intelligence-based operations would continue until militant groups were completely eliminated. He said the government remained committed to supporting security institutions in their efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability across the country.
