ISLAMABAD: Sindh Minister for Labor and Manpower Saeed Ghani briefed the Senate Standing Committee on National Health Regulation and Coordination about HIV cases reported at the CESE Welfare Hospital, which was working under the administrative control of the Labor Department.
The committee meeting was chaired by Senator Aamir Waliuddin and attended by senior federal and provincial officials, including Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal.
During the session, Saeed Ghani presented details about the reported HIV cases and informed the committee about the steps being taken by the Labor Department to address the situation. He shared updates on measures aimed at improving monitoring and ensuring an effective response to the health concern.
The committee reviewed matters related to public health and discussed the need for stronger coordination between federal and provincial authorities. Members stressed the importance of timely action, preventive measures and improved healthcare services to protect communities.
The meeting was attended by Senators Musarrat Ahsan, Nadeem Ahmed Bhutto, Anusha Rahman and Samina Mumtaz, among others. Secretary Labor Sindh Sajid Jamal Abro, Commissioner CESE Hadi Bakhsh Kalhoro and other officials also participated in the discussion.
Participants emphasized that emerging health challenges required close cooperation among government institutions. They said coordinated efforts, effective monitoring systems and better healthcare facilities were essential to improve health outcomes and ensure support for affected people.
The session reflected the importance of collaboration between federal and provincial departments in dealing with public health issues and strengthening healthcare responses across the country.
