KARACHI: The Sindh Employees’ Social Security Institution (SESSI) held an awareness seminar at its head office in Karachi for representatives of the All Pakistan Security Agencies Association (APSAA), aimed at improving understanding of social security laws and employer obligations.
The program was organized on the instructions of SESSI Commissioner Hadi Bakhsh Kalhoro, following a request made during an earlier meeting with APSAA representatives. A large number of participants from various security agencies attended the session, including APSAA chairman Munir Ahmed and members of his executive body.
SESSI vice commissioner Sikandar Baloch also participated in the event. Speaking at the opening, director of public relations, training and research Saifullah Khan welcomed participants and said the seminar was part of efforts to raise awareness about social security schemes among workers and employers.
Officials from the institution delivered detailed briefings on registration procedures, contribution requirements, and legal frameworks, while also explaining medical and financial benefits available to insured workers.
Sikandar Baloch said such awareness initiatives were essential for strengthening coordination between institutions and the business community, adding that improved engagement would help make the social security system more effective.
Munir Ahmed thanked the SESSI administration for organizing the seminar, calling it a timely initiative, and expressed hope that similar sessions would continue in the future to enhance cooperation and awareness. The event concluded with the presentation of a commemorative shield and an Ajrak to the APSAA chairman as a gesture of goodwill.
