KARACHI: Sindh’s Provincial Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, Muhammad Ali Malkani, hosted a luncheon in honor of a delegation from China’s Modern Biology Group, where both sides reviewed progress on a bilateral agreement aimed at strengthening the livestock sector and expanding technical cooperation.
The meeting focused on the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Sindh Livestock and Fisheries Department and the Chinese side for the development of livestock in the province. Officials assessed the progress achieved under the agreement and discussed ways to accelerate cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
During the discussions, both sides reviewed ongoing initiatives designed to modernize livestock production, improve animal health services and introduce advanced technologies to support farmers. They agreed that continued collaboration would help strengthen the sector and contribute to sustainable agricultural development in Sindh.
The Chinese delegation also briefed the provincial minister on its visit to the Sindh Institute of Animal Health in Karachi. Members of the delegation praised the institute’s performance and described its modern facilities, technical expertise and research capabilities as highly impressive. They said the institution reflected Sindh’s growing capacity to provide advanced veterinary and animal health services.
Muhammad Ali Malkani highlighted the range of services provided by the Livestock and Fisheries Department to livestock farmers across the province. He informed the delegation that the department continued to offer several facilities free of charge to support farmers, improve livestock productivity and strengthen disease prevention measures.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to promoting the development of Sindh’s livestock sector through greater technological cooperation and knowledge sharing. They agreed to continue implementing the MoU and explore further opportunities for collaboration in research, veterinary services and capacity building.
