ISLAMABAD: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would not tolerate injustice under any circumstances and would not allow the public’s rights to be taken away.
Addressing a press conference, Sharjeel Memon demanded that re-elections should be held in constituencies where rigging had been identified, particularly in the constituency of Chaudhry Yaseen, where he called for a fresh election. He said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would not be allowed to undermine the public mandate, adding that the PPP would not let its mandate be stolen.
Sindh senior minister criticized remarks by Khawaja Saad Rafique against the PPP’s martyred leaders and accused Khawaja Asif of insulting and humiliating Kashmiris, saying such statements were unacceptable. The Sindh senior minister alleged that the PML-N was governing Punjab through a rigged mandate and claimed that Maryam Nawaz had become chief minister through a fake mandate.
Speaking about Sindh’s health sector, Sharjeel Memon said the progress made in healthcare services in the province had not been achieved anywhere else in Pakistan. He said people from across the country visited government hospitals in Sindh for free and quality treatment.
The minister questioned criticism against Sindh, saying people from all over Pakistan came to Karachi for employment and medical treatment, and asked why people would come to the city if no development work had been carried out.
Sharjeel Memon also criticized what he described as the authoritarian approach of the PML-N, claiming that in Punjab, even comments on the destruction caused by rains were restricted and threats were issued over advertisements.
