KARACHI: Sindh Interior Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has praised the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Sindh and a federal sensitive civil agency for what he described as a major operational success following the arrest of a key facilitator involved in supplying drones and explosive materials to terrorist networks.
In a statement issued on 13 June 2026, the minister commended CTD Sindh, particularly Deputy Inspector General Azfar Mehsar and his team, saying their professional conduct and operational efficiency were highly commendable.
He said the joint operation led to the arrest of an important facilitator linked to the supply chain of terrorism, including the provision of modern drone technology and explosive material. He described the breakthrough as a significant achievement in exposing the logistical network used by militant elements.
The interior minister said the exposure of such networks and disruption of their supply chains represented an important step forward in countering evolving security threats. He noted that the use of modern drone technology in illegal activities highlighted the changing nature of terrorism and the need for constant vigilance by law enforcement agencies.
He added that coordinated operations by Sindh Police, CTD Sindh, and federal sensitive institutions had helped ensure timely action against potential threats and contributed to maintaining peace and stability in the province.
Lanjar said facilitators and collaborators of terrorist organisations would not be allowed to escape the law, adding that action against them would continue without exception. He stressed that law enforcement agencies remained fully committed to public safety and strengthening internal security across Sindh.
