SUKKUR: Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur, and the Sindh IT Company (SITC) have signed a Service Level Agreement (SLA) to digitize the university’s examination records in a move aimed at modernizing academic administration and strengthening transparency in higher education.
The agreement will see SITC develop and implement a digital examination records management system to securely store, manage and verify academic records, replacing manual processes with an integrated technology-based platform.
The signing ceremony was attended by Sindh Chief Minister’s Special Assistant on Information Technology Ali Rashid, Sindh Higher Education Commission Chairman Prof Dr S. M. Tariq Rafi, Secretary for Universities and Boards Muhammad Abbas Baloch, Information Technology Secretary Zulfiqar Ali Nizamani, SALU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Yousuf Khushk, SITC Chief Executive Officer Zainulabedin Shah and other senior officials.
Muhammad Abbas Baloch said the digitization project represented an important governance reform that would improve efficiency, accountability and public confidence across the province’s higher education sector.
Zulfiqar Ali Nizamani said digital transformation was essential for building efficient and citizen-focused public institutions, adding that the collaboration demonstrated how technology could improve governance and safeguard critical academic records.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Yousuf Khushk thanked Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and the provincial government for supporting what he described as a landmark project. He said the initiative formed part of the university’s wider institutional reform agenda and would introduce secure digital record management, reliable online verification of academic credentials and more efficient examination services in line with international standards.
SITC Chief Executive Officer Zainulabedin Shah said the company remained committed to delivering a secure and future-ready digital examination management system that would strengthen institutional trust and support the wider digital transformation of higher education.
Officials said the initiative forms part of Sindh’s broader digital governance strategy and is intended to improve transparency, public service delivery and the integrity of academic records while benefiting students, graduates, employers and educational institutions across the province.
