KARACHI: Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) Chairman and Special Assistant to the Sindh Chief Minister, Junaid Banday, met senior officials of the Punjab Skills Development Fund (PSDF) to discuss closer institutional cooperation aimed at strengthening technical education and improving employment opportunities for young people.
The meeting was held at the PSDF headquarters, where Junaid Banday held talks with PSDF Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Khan, Additional Secretary of Punjab’s Skills Department Munawar Ali and other senior officials. The discussions focused on expanding collaboration in technical and vocational education and aligning training programs with the evolving needs of industry.
Both sides exchanged views on improving skills development initiatives and ensuring that training programs equipped young people with practical knowledge required by employers. They agreed that stronger coordination between the two institutions would help produce a skilled workforce capable of meeting the demands of both domestic and international labor markets.
During the meeting, the STEVTA delegation received a detailed briefing on the Punjab Skills Development Fund’s programs and its modern approaches to vocational training. Officials outlined various industry partnerships, innovative training models and employment-linked initiatives designed to improve job placement for graduates and strengthen connections between training institutions and employers.
The discussions also explored ways to increase employment opportunities by promoting demand-driven skills programs and encouraging closer engagement with the private sector. Both institutions recognized that technical education must continue to evolve in response to changing market requirements and emerging technologies.
Junaid Banday said cooperation with institutions such as the Punjab Skills Development Fund would play an important role in equipping young people with modern skills and preparing them for competitive national and international job markets.
