KARACHI: A speeding dumper crashed into a police mobile on the M-9 Motorway near DHA in Karachi after the heavy vehicle reportedly lost control, officials said.
Police said the mobile was parked along the roadside when the accident occurred. The dumper was travelling from Hyderabad towards Karachi at the time of the incident.
Two police personnel were inside the vehicle when the collision took place. One officer was rescued safely, while the other remained trapped and rescue efforts were underway.
Authorities and emergency teams reached the scene soon after the accident and began operations to remove the damaged vehicles and recover the trapped officer. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
The incident has raised fresh concerns over speeding heavy traffic and road safety on major highways leading into Karachi.
