SUKKUR: Sukkur IBA University organised an inter-university Milli Naghma competition as part of its “Marka-e-Haq: Inspiring the Nation” commemorative week, featuring student performances focused on themes of unity, sacrifice and patriotism.

The event was attended by Commissioner Larkana Division Rasheed Masood Khan as chief guest, along with Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Asif Ahmed Shaikh.
Welcoming the guests, Dr Asif Ahmed Shaikh said youth played a vital role in upholding national values and shaping the country’s future. He appreciated the participants’ performances and encouraged students to contribute positively to society through creativity and constructive engagement.
He said initiatives like Marka-e-Haq helped strengthen national identity, unity and a shared sense of purpose among young people.

Students from Sukkur IBA University and Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University participated in the competition, presenting performances that created an emotionally charged atmosphere for the audience of faculty members, staff and students.
Mr Maisam Bashir from Sukkur IBA University secured first position, while second position was jointly awarded to Mr Sajjad Hussain of Sukkur IBA University and Ms Maryam from Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University. Ms Nasira Batool from Sukkur IBA University secured third position.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Rasheed Masood Khan praised the university for organising the event, saying such activities helped promote patriotism and cultural awareness among youth and strengthened national cohesion.
The ceremony was attended by Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Syed Mir Muhammad Shah, Dean Faculty of Science and Information Technology Prof Dr Sher Muhammad Daudpota, heads of departments, director CDC, a delegation from Begum Nusrat Bhutto Women University, faculty members, staff and students.
The event concluded with prize distribution and souvenir presentations to winners and participants, followed by a group photograph.
