KARACHI: A high-level United States business delegation expressed strong interest in exploring investment opportunities in Pakistan during a two-day visit to Karachi, supported by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
The delegation appreciated the improving business environment in Pakistan and acknowledged the role of SIFC in promoting investor confidence, streamlining procedures and creating greater ease of doing business.
During its visit, the US business representatives held meetings with Sindh provincial ministers and reviewed potential investment opportunities in key economic projects, including Bin Qasim Industrial Park, Karachi Industrial Park and other development initiatives.
The delegation was briefed on several major projects and investment facilitation measures, including the Sindh Business One-Stop Shop, Keti Bandar Port, NED Science and Technology Park and the proposed Sindh International Financial Center.
Officials highlighted Pakistan’s efforts to attract foreign investment through policy reforms and improved coordination between government institutions and private sector stakeholders. The discussions focused on expanding economic cooperation and identifying areas where US companies could participate in Pakistan’s growth sectors.
The delegation also met representatives of the Pakistan Business Council, where investment opportunities in capital markets, agriculture, textiles, energy, minerals, health and other important sectors were discussed.
The visit reflected renewed interest among international investors in Pakistan’s economic potential, with authorities presenting the country as an emerging destination for business partnerships and long-term investment. The SIFC has continued efforts to facilitate foreign investment by providing a coordinated platform for investors and government departments.
