UPPER SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Residents from various areas of South Waziristan Upper said they had still not received compensation for homes destroyed during the 2009 military operation Rah-e-Nijat, leaving affected families in severe hardship.

The displaced people said that even after 17 years, no financial assistance had been provided for their destroyed houses. They said they were still forced to live in displacement and had been left without basic facilities.

They said they had made significant sacrifices for the country, leaving their homes and enduring the hardship of displacement, but had received only neglect in return. They added that repeated promises had been made by the authorities over the years, but no practical steps had been taken.
Local residents called on the government and relevant authorities to take immediate notice of the situation, compensate the losses of affected families, and pay the dues for demolished homes without further delay so they could rebuild their lives.
