NEW DELHI:: Indian singer Vishal Dadlani has urged the public to avoid placing power in the hands of “uneducated people” if they want to ensure the country’s safety and progress.
In a video shared on Instagram, the singer commented on the recurring issue of paper leaks in India’s National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), expressing frustration over repeated failures in the examination system and lack of accountability from authorities.
He criticised government institutions, saying that paper leaks occur every year during exams, yet no one takes responsibility. Instead, he said, ministers continue to make promises that they will resolve the issue without delivering meaningful change.
Dadlani argued that the situation reflects a broader decline in the value of education, claiming that those in positions of power are often themselves uneducated. He stressed that this trend is dangerous for the future of the country.
He further appealed to citizens to be careful in choosing their leaders, saying that power should not be handed to “ignorant, uneducated or uncivilised people,” regardless of their background or family ties.
The video quickly went viral on social media, drawing mixed reactions from users. While some supported his comments as a reflection of public frustration over repeated exam irregularities, others criticised his remarks as overly harsh.
