KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari directed that projects agreed between the Government of Sindh and Chinese companies should be advanced without delay, with all remaining procedural and technical requirements completed at the earliest.
President Zardari chaired a meeting in Karachi with Chinese delegations from Anhui Nengtong New Energy Technology Company Limited and Luoyang Modern Biology Group to review progress on previously agreed areas of cooperation.
The President was briefed on collaboration in electric vehicle charging infrastructure, veterinary biological vaccines, animal identification and traceability, agricultural technology, healthcare, fire safety equipment and other sectors. He was informed about Anhui Nengtong’s interest in manufacturing and supplying electric vehicle charging stations and developing related infrastructure in Sindh.
President Zardari said the government was fully facilitating Chinese businesses and investors and that Pakistan highly valued its All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership with China. He reaffirmed the country’s commitment to further strengthening economic cooperation under CPEC, noting that CPEC 2.0 was now underway.
Asif Ali Zardari said Karachi and Hyderabad offered significant potential for electric vehicle infrastructure, while the Karachi-Hyderabad M-9 motorway could serve as an important starting point for intercity charging facilities.
The President was also briefed on cooperation with Luoyang Modern Biology Group in the fields of veterinary biological vaccines, animal identification and traceability. He was informed that vaccine trials in China and Pakistan were expected to conclude by November 2026.
Zardari said these initiatives, together with cooperation in disease diagnosis, vaccine development and a modern animal track-and-trace mechanism, would strengthen livestock management, improve disease control, enhance food safety and boost the export competitiveness of Pakistan’s livestock sector and its products.
