KARACHI: Sindh’s Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah paid homage to the late Benazir Bhutto on her death anniversary in Sukkur, asserting that all those responsible for her assassination had been identified and neutralized.
Speaking to a gathering of party workers and supporters, Shah reflected on Bhutto’s enduring legacy, emphasizing that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) continued to uphold the values and principles she championed throughout her political career. In his address, Shah drew attention to pressing challenges in public healthcare, particularly highlighting the condition of the Civil Hospital in Larkana.
Sindh CM described the facility as outdated and inadequate, urging the provincial and federal authorities to prioritize the construction of a modern hospital. He noted that the hospital served not only Sindh but also patients from neighboring Balochistan, making an upgraded facility a matter of urgent public interest.
Turning to contemporary political matters, Shah urged the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to evolve beyond what he described as “one-person politics,” calling on the party to embrace realism and take on the responsibilities of a constructive opposition. He criticized political maneuvering that, in his view, hindered effective governance, and stressed the importance of political maturity for the stability of the country.
Shah also issued a stern warning against external threats targeting Pakistan’s military and civilian leadership. While he did not specify the sources of these threats, his comments underscored growing concerns over security and the resilience of national institutions.
