DADU: A recent survey by the Education Department has revealed a growing crisis in primary education across Dadu district, with 357 school buildings reported to be in dangerously dilapidated condition. According to an official letter from District Officer (Primary) Liaquat Naich, teaching activities in these structures have become unfeasible, putting thousands of students at risk.
The distribution of unsafe schools includes 49 in Dadu Tehsil, 58 in Johi, 178 in Khairpur Nathan Shah, and 72 in Mehar. More than 42,000 students are currently enrolled in these schools, many of which face imminent structural collapse.
To prevent disruption to learning and ensure student safety, the Education Department has recommended temporary classes in tents. Assistance has been requested from social and welfare organizations to provide the tents, while the district administration has been urged to take immediate corrective action to address the crisis and safeguard the affected students.
