KARACHI: The Dar-us-Shifa Dialysis Center, operated by the Dar-us-Shifa Foundation, recently hosted a “Health and Family Carnival” designed to combine healthcare awareness with family-friendly entertainment.
The event offered free diagnostic testing alongside a range of infotainment activities for children, aiming to educate young participants about health while keeping the atmosphere engaging and enjoyable.
Speaking at the event, the chief guest and former member of the National Assembly, Rehan Hashmi, emphasized the importance of combining learning with play. He said that initiatives of this kind were particularly effective in raising awareness among children about the risks associated with chronic diseases, helping them develop healthy habits from an early age.
The carnival included interactive stalls, games, and activities that allowed children to learn about nutrition, hygiene, and lifestyle choices in an accessible and entertaining way. Organizers highlighted that the event also provided parents with an opportunity to receive basic health screenings and consult with medical professionals about preventive care.
Officials from the Dar-us-Shifa Foundation said the initiative reflected their ongoing commitment to public health, particularly in educating communities about disease prevention and early diagnosis. They added that engaging children through playful yet educational activities was a key strategy in fostering long-term awareness and wellbeing.
Attendees praised the event for its blend of fun and learning, noting that such community-focused initiatives helped bridge gaps in health education. By combining diagnostic services with interactive programs, the Dar-us-Shifa Health and Family Carnival sought to instill a culture of health consciousness among both children and their families, reinforcing the value of preventive care in everyday life.
