KARACHI: Korangi district police in Karachi carried out two separate operations on 2 January 2026, resulting in the arrest of four individuals involved in alleged drug dealing and theft. The coordinated actions, conducted by different police stations within the district, highlight ongoing efforts to tackle organized crime and street-level offences.

In the first operation, officers from Landhi police station arrested two men, Taimur, son of Zafar Ali, and Abid, son of Abdul Shakoor, on suspicion of drug peddling. Police recovered 130 grams of cannabis from their possession and said the suspects’ previous criminal records were being verified.

A case was registered against them under FIR No 797/25, invoking section 9(1) 3(a) of the Anti-Narcotics Act 2024, before they were handed over to the investigation wing for further inquiry. In a separate action, Khokhrapar police station detained two women, Kiran, daughter of Zahoor, and Ayesha, daughter of Akbar Hussain, accused of committing thefts by distracting and confining victims through deceptive conversation.

Officers recovered a mobile phone, two gold earrings, and cash from the suspects. A case was registered under FIR No 01/2026, citing sections 380, 454, and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code, and the women were also sent to the investigation wing for further questioning.
