KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers arrested six suspects, including the alleged leader of a criminal gang, during an operation against robbery and street crime in Orangi Town.

According to a Rangers spokesperson, the operation was carried out on the basis of intelligence information in Khairabad, Altaf Nagar. The suspects were taken into custody during the raid. Rangers said the arrested men included the alleged head of a gang suspected of involvement in street crime and robberies in the area.

Security personnel recovered four illegal pistols, ammunition, three mobile phones and cash from the suspects. The spokesperson said the arrested men had confessed to their involvement in more than 15 criminal incidents. The suspects were later handed over for further legal proceedings. The recovered weapons and other items were also taken into custody as part of the investigation. Rangers said the operation was aimed at curbing robbery and street crime in Orangi Town.
