KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab inaugurated the newly constructed Raheem Bux Soomro Road in Gulzar-e-Hijri, Scheme 33, Safora Town, District East, part of development projects costing Rs104 million.

The 3,500-foot-long, 36-foot-wide road, built to modern engineering standards, aims to ease traffic congestion and improve commuter facilities. Deputy Parliamentary Leader Dil Muhammad, UC Chairman Bashir Khasheli, PPP District East President Iqbal Sand, Asif Khan, and other officials were present.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor Wahab highlighted the completion of the road from Saudi Sweets to Abdul Salam Road, resolving a long-standing public issue. He also announced upcoming projects including Pehlwan Goth Road, Jahangir Road, and a new route from Natha Khan Flyover linking Pehlwan Goth, designed to reduce congestion on Shahrah-e-Faisal.

Other initiatives include the completion of Baloch Colony Expressway by January 31, University Road BRT project by July 31, and multiple flyovers and underpasses across Korangi, Malir, and Gulistan-e-Jauhar. He emphasized delivering tangible results over slogans, stating that PPP-led efforts are focused on practical improvements in infrastructure, traffic management, and urban development.

Mayor Wahab stressed that all development projects would be completed to ensure a better future for Karachi residents. The Mayor reaffirmed his vision of non-discriminatory service, political unity, and continuous investment in the city, paying tribute to Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and committing to follow his developmental and democratic ideals.
