PESHAWAR: A three-day professional photography course aimed at equipping youth from the newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with modern, market-oriented skills was held in Peshawar from 30 December 2025 to 1 January 2026.

The course took place at the main hall of the Directorate of Youth Affairs, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in Hayatabad, with full institutional support from the department. Young participants from the former tribal areas actively took part in the interactive training sessions.

The program was designed to provide practical and technical training aligned with the requirements of contemporary local and international markets, enabling participants to channel their creative abilities into viable employment opportunities. The sessions were conducted by Akifullah Khan, along with experienced professional photographers and master trainers.

Trainers guided participants on the significance of photography, its wide-ranging practical applications and evolving trends at national and global levels. The curriculum included hands-on instruction in camera handling, modern lighting techniques, composition, frame selection, lens use, event and commercial photography, digital editing and basic market-oriented skills.

Speakers emphasized that photography was not only a creative art but also a respectable and growing profession, offering opportunities in journalism, mainstream and digital media, social media platforms and freelancing.

At the conclusion of the program, participants described the course as highly informative and valuable for their professional growth. They expressed appreciation to the Directorate of Youth Affairs, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the organizers for facilitating the training, and stressed the need for the continuation of similar initiatives.

Participants also recommended that future courses include advanced modules such as video shooting, editing and digital storytelling to further strengthen their professional skill sets.
