TANDO ALLAHYAR: A Safety Cabinet machine was inaugurated at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Tando Allahyar, marking a significant step in providing free diagnostic facilities to underprivileged patients.
Speaking at the ceremony, AIM Medical Superintendent Dr Maryam Rukhsana said the new machine would allow poor patients, who previously had to spend thousands of rupees at private laboratories, to access essential medical tests free of charge at the DHQ Hospital.
Senior Medical Officer Dr Jetha Anand Lal, Dr Sohrab Khan, and Laboratory In-charge Faiz Leghari were also present. They said the facility would be a milestone for low-income families, particularly amid rising inflation, when many struggle to meet basic daily needs.
The speakers noted that financial constraints often force patients to use costly private labs, placing an additional burden on already strained household budgets. They said the availability of the Safety Cabinet at DHQ Hospital would save money and ensure timely and accurate diagnoses.
They added that correct diagnosis through modern laboratory facilities would allow qualified doctors to provide appropriate and effective treatment. The initiative was described as an important move towards strengthening public healthcare services and making quality medical care accessible to all.
