KARACHI: The University of Karachi has cancelled the admission of a student enrolled in an evening program after it was discovered that a forged marksheet had been submitted during the admission process.
According to the in-charge of the University of Karachi’s Directorate of Admissions, Professor Dr Saima Akhtar, Muhammad Zaid Khan, son of Muhammad Asif Khan, bearing form number 677400 and marksheet roll number 100600, had submitted a counterfeit document to secure admission to the BS third year program in the Department of Public Administration.
She said that the marksheet was found to be forged during verification carried out by the university’s Examination Department. As a result, the student’s admission has been cancelled with immediate effect.
University officials said the decision was taken in accordance with institutional rules and regulations, and reiterated that the university maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards the submission of fake or forged academic documents.
