PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Minister for Public Health Engineering, Fazal Shakoor Khan, has directed concerned Executive Engineers to fast-track all ongoing development projects in Mansehra and South Waziristan and ensure their timely completion, officials said on Wednesday.
Chairing a high-level meeting at his office, the minister emphasized that comprehensive groundwork for the PC-I of proposed schemes must be completed promptly and submitted to the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) for approval. This, he noted, would allow public facilities to be delivered without delay.
The meeting was attended by XEN Mansehra, Sardar Khalid Gandapur, and XEN South Waziristan, Mian Gul, who provided detailed briefings on ongoing and proposed projects, progress made, challenges faced, and future plans for their respective districts.
Reviewing the briefings, Minister Fazal Shakoor Khan stressed that unnecessary delays in development projects would not be tolerated. He reaffirmed that the timely completion of public welfare schemes is a top priority for the provincial government. “Access to clean drinking water and proper sanitation is a basic right of the people, and the government is committed to utilizing all available resources to ensure these facilities reach every citizen,” he said.
The minister also directed officers to strengthen field monitoring, maintain strict quality standards, and ensure full transparency in all projects. He assured that the government would provide full support in approving new projects and allocating funds according to the needs of districts, aiming to secure safe drinking water and sanitation services even in remote and underdeveloped areas.
Officials said the directives signal a renewed push by the KP government to expedite public health engineering schemes and enhance service delivery to citizens across the province.
