He was received at the airport by the Director General of the East Asia Pacific Division of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with officials from the Myanmar Embassy.
The visit comes at a time when both Pakistan and Myanmar are seeking to deepen diplomatic engagement and explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation in trade, investment, and cultural exchanges. During his stay, Than Swe is expected to hold a series of meetings with senior Pakistani officials, including the Foreign Minister, to discuss areas of mutual interest and strategic collaboration.
Officials from both sides indicated that the visit would focus on consolidating longstanding bilateral relations and exploring new avenues for cooperation in sectors such as education, commerce, and regional security. The discussions are also likely to include measures to strengthen people-to-people contacts and promote cultural understanding between the two nations.
This official visit reflects Pakistan’s continued commitment to maintaining strong diplomatic ties with its regional partners. Both Islamabad and Naypyidaw have emphasized the importance of sustained dialogue in addressing common challenges and advancing shared goals. By hosting the Myanmar foreign minister, Pakistan aims to reaffirm its role as an engaged and reliable partner in South and Southeast Asia.
