SHAHEED BENAZIRABAD: The minister for universities and educational boards, Muhammad Ismail Rahoo, attended the fifth senate meeting of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University (SBBU) in Shaheed Benazirabad on Thursday.
The gathering brought together senior faculty, administrators, and policymakers to review the university’s progress and chart future plans. The meeting was chaired by the university’s vice-chancellor, Engineer Dr Madad Ali Shah, who presented the annual report. The report detailed the strides made over the past year in academic standards, administrative reforms, and infrastructure development.
Dr Shah spoke about efforts to modernize curricula, improve research output, and create a more supportive environment for both staff and students. He emphasized the importance of institutional capacity building, noting that strengthening administrative systems and governance structures was key to sustaining long-term academic excellence.
Several ongoing development projects were highlighted, including the expansion of library facilities, upgrading laboratories, and introducing digital learning tools to enhance student engagement. He commended the university’s leadership for its efforts and reiterated the government’s commitment to higher education.
Minister Rahoo underscored the role of universities in shaping a skilled and competitive workforce, saying that institutions like SBBU were central to the country’s educational and social development. The meeting also provided a platform for discussions on future initiatives, including partnerships with other universities, fostering research collaborations, and introducing new programs to meet the evolving demands of students and industry.
