RIYADH: The third Global Labor Market Conference began in Riyadh under the theme “Future in Progress,” bringing together policymakers, thought leaders, and experts from around the world.
The two-day event, running from 26 to 27 January 2026 at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center, aims to explore emerging challenges and solutions for the evolving labor market. Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Salik Hussain, arrived in Riyadh last night to participate in the ministerial session.
The session, chaired by Saudi Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi, included labor ministers from the G20, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas. In his opening remarks, Minister Al-Rajhi highlighted the importance of constructive dialogue, calling the conference a cornerstone for international cooperation.
He explained that the event facilitates the exchange of practical experiences between ministers and senior officials, focusing on current labor market trends and identifying areas for future collaboration capable of producing tangible results. “The conference, under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, seeks to advance global discussions on the future of work and find solutions to shared challenges transforming labor markets,” said Minister Al-Rajhi.
This year, the conference is expected to host over 10,000 participants from 100 countries, including more than 40 ministers, representatives of international organizations, the private sector, and academic institutions. It will feature over 200 speakers across 50 sessions, addressing topics such as aligning employment policies with future-ready workforce needs, sharing international best practices, and enhancing coordination between labor market strategies.
